The life of an artist is a life of an interpreter. Art is a reflection of life. They go hand in hand, inspiring each other to create something special and unique. We tell a story of life which cannot be explained verbally.

Themes of isolation and internal conflict combined with an air of mystery are exposed in my paintings. The sense of light is important to creating atmosphere in my work. The representational imagery is often based on my own photographs of constructed scenes. The moments captured are private and contemplative states of everyday situations. A majority of my pieces are produced in a traditional, academic manner while containing contemporary ideas, inspired by artists including Edward Hopper and Vermeer.

As an artist I am also interested in creating intuitive and more fantastical works. I feel it is important to have freedom and variety within creativity. With that said, I continue to explore all paths to producing works of art.
